We have another update from Josephine in Lebanon. Warning: don’t check out the pictures if you’re hungry! The small grant she was given to start her catering business has now blossomed into the community as a strong supporter during these hard times. She sent us this note:

We wanted to share with you that, we have once again been able to give back to our community during these challenging times. For the second time during the war, our kitchen has been operating to prepare and distribute hot meals to families displaced from South Lebanon. The equipment and resources made possible through your support have enabled us to respond quickly and efficiently when our community needed it most. Attached are a few photos from our latest meal preparation and distribution.

What an incredible blessing to be able to not only help several women provide for their families by building a thriving business, but to see the fruit of it spread out to all around them. Talk about paying it forward. Thank you for your continued support of our work in these areas where things are incredibly difficult for all.

All who support Nasarean should rightly feel proud when we see the success of the businesses we have helped start or grow. This week we have a wonderful update on Josephine’s catering business in Berte-Saida, Lebanon. One of our many women-run businesses, since we last heard from her, the businesses has expanded, with 11 more employees, focussing on women, to help with their independence. As you can see from the wonderful photos, she is also supporting local farmers and producers – a success story in a tough environment. As she said when we last heard from her – “the situation in our country is very difficult, but you truly believed in us and helped us!” Thank you for your support!

Josephine’s catering business in Berte-Saida, Lebanon, is thriving!  She now employs 5 other women totaling 12 families being supported by this project. She has been able to double her capacity in less than a year – incredible!  And she is incredibly grateful.  Here is an excerpt from a beautiful letter she wrote to Nasarean – which means she wrote it to YOU. God bless you for your support!

Your help made me able to do things I could not do on my own. Your help made my work grow beyond measure. Our level of production raised tremendously, thanks to the equipment we got, whether it was a big oven, big gas stoves, or a large refrigerator. All of this was thanks to you….  The situation in the country is very difficult, and our region is tougher than anywhere else. But you truly believed in us and helped us. I grew my business, and now we are producing more. I would love for you to visit me and see what we have done. We are working day and night, and producing. Thank God, thank God, we are continuing.

Have a shiny one for you today!  Josephine requested funds to assist with her catering business in Berte Saida in the south of Lebanon, which was taking off after their production of Lebanese mouneh created high demand and expanded their reach beyond their own village. All food is prepared by herself and 5 other women and they strive to help other women that wish to be independent and empowered, while supporting local producers and farmers.  They are definitely putting the equipment to good use!  We have a special focus on women-run businesses and here are 6 strong women, supporting their families by working hard – and they’re able to do so thanks to you!  Check out their page (maybe not on an empty stomach because looks quite tasty!) – https://www.facebook.com/p/Josephines-Catering-100057630092638/
