We have returned to Syria, helped by our partners, the French charity SOS Chretiens. That beautiful country, where many of the first Christians came from – what one bishop called the “Church of Pentecost,” has suffered so greatly in recent years. The level of poverty, damage from war and persecution, is shocking. Sanctions have made daily life extremely difficult for ordinary people, with terrible shortages of food and medicine and, very seriously, fuel. With your help, we will support a biofuel project, using agricultural waste, especially the stones of olives, from the region of Tartous. Apart from providing employment, it will greatly help the needs of the people heating their homes in the hard winter.
