Give to Project Jonah

You were so generous to our Syrian brethren during our Giving Tuesday campaign, supporting the much needed biofuel project for the community! They went to see the site in January (engineer, legal consultant, project managers, and land owners) and are awaiting the final legal approvals to go forward. SOSCO is working hard to get the project up and running as the community struggles so much with sanctions and the current unrest in the region – this project will provide hope for all the workers and families that benefit from it! 4/2/24 We have returned to Syria, helped by our partners, the French charity SOS Chretiens. That beautiful country, where many of the first Christians came from – what one bishop called the “Church of Pentecost,” has suffered so greatly in recent years. The level of poverty, damage from war and persecution, is shocking. Sanctions have made daily life extremely difficult for ordinary people, with terrible shortages of food and medicine and, very seriously, fuel. With your help, we will support a biofuel project, using agricultural waste, especially the stones of olives, from the region of Tartous. Apart from providing employment, it will greatly help the needs of the people heating their homes in the hard winter. 11/29/23
