Sometimes Church leaders think their words on almost any issue are still greeted with the respect they possibly enjoyed one hundred years ago: that is not the case. The world, as Scripture calls it, has its place for useful idiots, but we are not of the world. This week, St. Augustine of Hippo has some words to strengthen and encourage us – written centuries ago, but with a decidedly contemporary feel.
