St. Paul, writing to Timothy in his second letter, from prison where he is in chains for preaching the Good News, reminds Timothy that the Word of God cannot be chained. As St. John Henry Newman wrote, a great mischief, or chain today, is the doctrine that all creeds are the same. This tolerance breeds increasing intolerance.
