Scripture may not intentionally be amusing, but sometimes it can be very funny. The account of the battle of wills, in the First Book of Kings, between the prophets of the false god Baal and the prophet Elijah, is one such story. The false prophets “dance and hobble” before their false god, who cannot answer. Elijah calls on the true God. We must not “hobble” before the many false gods our world promotes - but “bend the knee” before the Lord.
