The parish where I help out when I’m in England suffered a great loss this Easter. A young mother aged 28, a wonderful singer, died suddenly. Our faith in the Resurrection does not remove suffering from our lives, but transforms it. Christ’s wounds are real and the marks of His Passion endure after the Resurrection. “By His wounds,” Scripture tells us, we “are healed.”
