First, a book recommendation: “Kidnapped in Iraq,” by my friend Alexandre Goodarzy, from the great French charity SOS Chretiens. He helped me in Syria, and, a few months later, was kidnapped in Iraq. It’s a great book, with important background on the real situation for Christians in Syria. It’s published by Sophia Institute Press. We examine this week the scriptural and historical basis for the comforting doctrine of the Assumption or “falling asleep” of Mary.
