Gospel Nugget 47: Humility and Presumption

We ask all our supporters to keep the Pope’s visit to Iraq over the next days in your prayers. Humility, which is a virtue, so it must be worked at, is not about low self-regard or false loneliness. It is a healthy sense of reality especially, like all the great Saints, about our own sins. Acknowledging our own sinfulness allows us to experience the goodness of God’s mercy. The great danger is taking that mercy for granted. Psalm 19 “from presumption restrain your servant.”
