As we sometimes do in the Nuggets, today we remind ourselves, or get to know better, the witness of one of the great Saints of the Church, St. Polycarp of Smyrna, martyred in 155AD at the venerable age of 86. Not only does St. Polycarp powerfully connect us with our roots, but his life and death witness to something contemporary society badly needs, without which it cannot survive.
