"Repent and believe the good news." This was Jesus' first message to us.
St. Matthew, whose feast we celebrated this week, joined Jesus at His call, a dramatic moment when St. Matthew recognizes redemption in the face of Christ. Just looking into Jesus' eyes is enough to cause St. Matthew to repent and forsake all else to follow Jesus. Are we praying for the grace to truly look into our Lord's eyes, to be "drawn to the gaze of Christ"?
